Choung isn't trying to write a blockbuster novel here. He took his excellent content and put it in a format that is much more readable than your average theological tome. I connected with the characters not because they were intricately developed but because I've struggled with those same questions over and over again. For me, it was usually an inner dialog. Something felt really good about reading it as a dialog between two people ... a mentor and a seeker after truth. There's nothing "dumbed down" about it.
I also was shocked by your contention that "true change happens from the pulpit." In my church, many of us enjoy reading and being challenged by deep books, often sharing insights with our pastor. Do you really think all serious Christian writing should be targeted solely toward pastors? "True change" happens from the grassroots!
