A series of high-profile Bible-based streaming series have landed on Prime Video in recent months, leading many viewers to take notice and search for other family-friendly titles within the streaming giant’s vast library.
As I’ve learned, there’s plenty to be found.
With titles like House of David and The Chosen padding what was already an impressive list of faith-focused content, it’s clear Prime Video is making a major push for families of faith.
Of course, many families already have a Prime Video subscription without realizing it. That’s because it’s an accompanying perk with Amazon Prime membership -- a service that provides not only fast shipping but also free music, e-books and more. It’s kind of like that old gift card sitting in your wallet or those delicious fries hidden at the bottom of the bag. You have it. You just didn’t know.
Some 180 million Americans subscribe to Amazon Prime, significantly more than the approximately 89 million subscribers to Netflix. Why not take a dive into the Prime Video library and enjoy what you already have?
Here are 10 great faith-based movies and television series on Prime Video, along with a few more titles worth checking out.

3. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

3. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
SLIDE 3 OF 10
Galadriel, Elrond and other heroes of Middle-earth battle the rise of evil in this fantastical live-action series set thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It draws from J.R.R. Tolkien’s books and their appendices and is scheduled for five seasons. Rings of Power is largely family-friendly, provided you don’t mind the types of monsters and violence common in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. “We like the idea that a family could watch this show,” showrunner Patrick McKay told Crosswalk. Rated TV-14. Rings of Power isn’t faith-based in the traditional sense, but Tolkien’s own biblical worldview shines through its themes of hope, sacrifice and the battle between good and evil.

SLIDE 6 OF 10
A man of deep faith takes a long journey across desert land to do the unthinkable: sacrifice his son on an altar to God. This Angel Studios movie follows the biblical story of Abraham and Isaac, tackling one of the most controversial passages in Scripture with reverence. (An angel from God stops Abraham at the last moment.) Director David Helling told Crosswalk the story points to Jesus. “[God] had a purpose in testing Abraham in this way and in setting this example -- this memorial stone of sorts -- that people could look back on for 2,000 years from the time of Abraham to the time of Christ.” Rated PG-13 for thematic content and some violence.
