Seek Progress Over Perfection – Beloved Women - February 28, 2019

TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
As a new Mom, I am learning that I am not perfect and I will make mistakes. There is not one “right” way to raise a child and there are so many different aspects of raising my daughter. While I want to give her all the love and attention I can give, each day is an opportunity for me to do the best I can and receive God’s grace to start anew. In I Timothy 4:15, Paul is encouraging Timothy as a young pastor to continue to grow in his spiritual gifts and celebrate the progress that he has made.
God isn’t looking for perfection from us but progress, and to depend on Him more. As with anything new, we must receive God’s grace and be reminded that it covers all of our shortcomings. Having an unrealistic pursuit of perfection will leave us empty and exhausted. I encourage you to celebrate the progress that God has given you today!
Dear God, thank You for the progress that You have allowed me to accomplish in my life. Please forgive me for times when I have strived for perfection rather than gratitude. Thank You for Your grace that covers me each day. Please help me to give thanks for the daily victories in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
