What Are You Holding Back? – Beloved Women - February 7, 2019
READ
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. - Matthew 11:28-29 ESV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
I remember belting the words “I surrender all...” during a recent worship service in church. At one point, I paused to consider the importance of those words. Could I really surrender all to God?
This is a question you may have asked yourself, it goes beyond religion and examines the state of our hearts. Can we give God our all without concealing some parts? Can we trust wholeheartedly in a God who will never leave nor forsake us?
The realities of life may make this difficult, especially in moments where it seems God is silent. We may try to do things our way or believe there are some things God does not need to know.
But loving God means giving him our all; the good, the bad, and the ugly. It means holding nothing back for He already knows everything about us.
Are you ready to give God every piece of your heart including your fears, secret desires, and hidden sins?
PRAY
Lord God, please help me to trust in You with all my heart. I ask that You let me not try to do things my own way. Help me Lord to lay every aspect of my life before You without holding back. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT
Take an inventory of your life. Are there areas you are holding back from God?
