The New Has Come – Beloved Women - January 1, 2019
READ
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. - 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
TODAY’S ENCOURAGEMENT
You don't lose your personality when you accept Christ into your life, but you gain His righteousness. So we're like a ball of clay that a potter forms into a jar. It's still the same material. It's just something new with a new shape, form, and functionality. It's still clay, but now it can do things it previously could not do until the potter used his own hands to mold it and shape it into something new and useful.
God does not need to erase your past. He is in the business of using our past and our mistakes to make something new. Moreover, He will make us new despite our old ways.
PRAY
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiveness and redemption of my past. As I enter the New Year, I pray I become more of the new creation You’ve called me to be. In Jesus Christ’s Name, I pray. Amen.
REFLECT
How can you trust God with your past so you can move forward into the future He has for you?
