Read Job 41-42

So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters - (Job 42: 12-13).

The Book of Job paints a very clear picture of several lessons for us to learn about living a life that is dedicated to the Lord. Several have already been discussed. Some bear repeating, and there are even others to consider as this examination of the life of Job comes to a close in the Word of God.

The enemy is always seeking to bring down the child of God. Satan knows that the way to attack the kingdom of God is by attacking His children. The thing for us as believers to always remember is that God is still in control. Even during the greatest attack of the devil, we must continue to surrender our will to the will of God. Ultimately God will always overcome the devil. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).

When the attack of the enemy comes, we may feel more alone than we have ever felt. It is true that friends and family may let us down and even raise unfair questions. The Lord will never abandon us. He will always be right by our side. We may not feel Him, but He is there. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother (Pro. 18:24).

We have the greatest assurance in life, which is that God will see us through every trial and tribulation. Job faced and over came this attack of doubt. God faithfully brought him through and out the other side to his reward.

Job lost much when the attack of the enemy came on him. God replaced all that Job had lost. Not only was it replaced, Job received more than he had to begin with. The Lord even saw that Job had more children.

The hand of the Lord was on His servant Job. It was there in the good times and the bad. The Lord will do the same for us as His servants.

But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19).

Thought for Today:

Through His sufferings Job was "refined" to become even more godly.

Word Studies:

41:13 discover the face of his garment, strip off his outer coat of armor; 41:17 sundered, separated; 41:23 flakes, folds; 42:6 abhor, loathe; 42:10 turned the captivity, restored the fortunes.

Christ Revealed:

Through Job's praying for his "friends" (Job 42:10). We are reminded that it is Christ . . . who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us (Rom. 8:34).

Prayer Suggestion: Pray for spiritual prosperity (1 Chron. 4:9-10).

Optional Reading: Philippians 2

Memory Verse for the Week: Lamentations 3:22-23
