Today's verse is Jeremiah 17:7-8 with Jennifer Slattery.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
"The next time you feel inundated with anxiety or fear, don't beat yourself up if your brain - like mine - feels really hard to redirect in the moment. Simply pull up some verses and begin speaking them out loud (or silently, if you're in a public place), knowing as you do, you ARE deepening your roots."
