Today's verse is Joshua 9:3-4; 14-15 with Kim Matthews.

When the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and to Ai, they also acted craftily and set out as envoys, and took worn-out sacks on their donkeys, and wineskins worn-out and torn and mended...
So the men took some of their provisions, but did not ask counsel from the LORD. And Joshua made peace with them and made a covenant with them, to let them live, and the leaders of the congregation swore to them.

"Father, thank you for your reminder that you are the all-wise and all-seeing God, and nothing escapes you. Thank you, that even in the midst of mistakes and mess-ups, you make provisions for victory and glory. Help me to apply your wisdom to my life."
