Chosen By The Creator Of The Universe

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will –to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.  Ephesians 1:4-6 NIV

Purpose is something that many people need in order to feel adequate.  Feeling like we have a purpose brings joy to our hearts and a sense of importance to our lives.  There is something about knowing that you are needed that makes us feel like our life is worth living, even in the hard times.

There are some that think their life is worthless and that they do not have a purpose, but that is not true.  There are some that were told that their lives were not planned and that they were just an accident or a mistake.  Some think that their only purpose on earth is to be abused in various different ways… because that is all that they know.

In our scripture today we see that we have a purpose and we were not a mistake and or an accident.  The scripture says that before the creation of the world God CHOSE us in Him to be holy and blameless before Him.

Life is hard and there are many things that we will never understand.  I grew up feeling unwanted and unloved.  I felt as if my life had no purpose and I didn’t understand why God even let me be born.  I have found great comfort in knowing that God chose me.

Before the creation of the world He chose me to be holy and blameless before Him.  The Lord has a purpose for me and He has one for you.

Take a moment to stop and think about the scripture above.  Think about how no matter what has happened in your life and what will happen, you were created with a purpose and chosen by the creator of the Universe.

Sit still for a while and let that truly sink in.

Dear Lord, in Your Word there are many references to our purpose.  Thank You for choosing us to do Your work here on earth.  Help us to never forget that You chose us and created us with a purpose.  Amen.
