When the Path is Covered
Café Menu for Tuesday, April 14, 2015
Today’s Special is: Seeing Through God’s Eyes
Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Kelly Brown
Main Ingredient:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
Entrée:
It's amazing what God can show us when we see through His eyes and trust His perspective. As I was walking in the woods with my horse a friend sent me this Scripture; Proverbs 3:5-6.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.
It just so happened (in Gods perfect timing) the text came to me as I was walking in an area where I couldn't see the path. It was covered with leaves and brush and I couldn't tell which way to go. Then I felt Him say,
This is how your path looks when you try to follow your own way and your perspective becomes unclear because you are seeing the stuff and not the path.
As I started listening to Him I kept hearing Him say, “Trust me” and so I kept walking and looking for what He wanted me to see. The path became clear both on the ground and in my life, because my perspective had changed. I was no longer looking at the stuff that was in the way, but I was looking for what God wanted me to see. The trail was no longer covered, and it was as if I was seeing through God’s eyes.
Sometimes the path I am on becomes covered with day-to-day stuff and the stuff can become my focus. But if I will allow God, El Roi, The God Who Sees, to put everything in perspective the path becomes clear again. I need to remember when I lose my way I need only to put my trust in Him and allow His perspective to be my perspective. Then He will show me the clear path He has for me.
I am so thankful for El Roi, The God Who Sees, even when I can't.
Take Out:
I challenge you to take a moment today and call on El Roi, The God Who Sees, and allow what He sees to become what you see. Allow Him to clear the stuff in your life that is hindering you from seeing the path He has for you.
Dessert:
Dear Lord, I pray that we will allow Your Spirit to open our eyes to see things the way You see them. Help us to allow Your perspective to become our perspective. So many times the stuff of our day- to-day lives can obstruct the view and the path that You have purposefully planned out for us.These things I ask in the precious and Holy name of Jesus, Amen.
