When Nothing Is Happening?! - From His Heart - July 10
WHEN NOTHING IS HAPPENING?!
And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.
Galatians 6:9
Have you ever tried to lose weight? It can be so discouraging. I mean you exercise, you cut out sweets, you eat more vegetables and less junk... and for some reason you don't lose any weight. UGH!! What gives?? When that happens to me the only answer is... PIZZA INN BUFFET!
Seriously, it can be quite demoralizing to try hard to lose weight and see little to no results. But the truth of the matter is this: if you keep up an exercise and diet program, you will eventually see the results you desire. It just takes time and your commitment to keep going and not quit.
The same is true in the Christian life. God says, "We shall reap if we do not grow weary." That is a promise that you and I can cling to with all our might. God cannot lie. And He is telling us to not give up until we see the harvest.
KEEP GOING
Many years ago, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. Awesome! Did he do it on the first try? No way! As a matter of fact, he tried thousands of times for two years with no success. But he did not give up, and he did not wallow in discouragement. He knew that every failure showed him how not to do it. His persistence paid off. Because he did not grow weary in doing good, he eventually reaped a great harvest... and the incandescent light bulb was born.
What have you been working toward and praying for with no visible results? Your marriage to get better? Your business situation to turn around? Your wayward children to come back to God? Your future spouse to come into your life? That ministry to get off the ground? That sin habit to be broken? Whatever you have been praying for... believing God for... and sowing seeds for... don't quit on it. Don't lose heart and throw in the towel. A great harvest is coming IF you and I keep on keeping on.
REVIVAL
Is revival really coming to America? Is there going to be a mighty move of God that will sweep the nation and the world before the second coming of Christ? YES!! And God will use us to usher it in IF we do not lose heart in doing good. Pray... and keep praying, witness... and keep witnessing, seek... and keep seeking, trust... and keep trusting, give... and keep giving. He will show Himself mighty and strong in the lives of those who don't quit!
May you and I adopt a Thomas Edison attitude when it comes to doing good. May we never lose heart and never say die.
