Hands-On Faith for Families – Week of May 29, 2023

Theme: Be Honest with God

God Forgives and Wants Us to Forgive

Scripture: Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.(Ephesians 4:32 ESV)

Play: Have your children straighten their arms and hold something relatively heavy (rock, brick, backpack, purse, large book) until their arms grow weak.

Talk: God forgives us, and He commands us to forgive others, too (Ephesians 4:32). Did your arms feel weak holding that object? When it comes to forgiving someone who has hurt us, we’re all weak. In fact, we probably can’t truly forgive without God’s help. If we ask Him, He will give us His strength to forgive others. Then we’ll feel free, just as you probably felt when you let go of what you had in your arms. Is there someone you need to forgive today?

Pray: Ask God to help you understand the power of His forgiveness and the importance of forgiving others.
