Theme: We Live in God’s Creation
God’s Perfect Design
Scripture: “And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:17 ESV).
Play: Observe a bird in flight and discuss what makes it able to fly so well. The wings. The feathers. The bird’s shape. Make paper airplanes of different shapes to see which ones fly best.
Talk: God perfectly designed birds for flight. We can see God’s flawless design in other parts of His creation, too. God has placed the Earth at just the right distance from the sun so humans can live. If our planet shifted too close to the sun, we would burn up, and if it shifted away from the sun, we would freeze. God created our moon the perfect size and distance from our planet. If the moon were smaller, it would not pull on the oceans and cause the tides. If the moon were larger, it would bring such enormous tides that no one could live near any ocean. Colossians 1:17 says that in God all things hold together. What has God created in your world that has worked perfectly?
Pray: Thank God for holding everything together and planning a world that was just right for our existence.
