Theme: Poor in Spirit
The Kingdom of Heaven
Play: Have one family member describe the perfect bedroom. When done, have each person finish this sentence: "If I were helping make your bedroom perfect, I would . . ." Ask each person to consider what the other family member has said and imagine putting something in the bedroom that the sibling or parent would like. Once enough special things are added, move on to the next person's perfect bedroom description. Continue until everyone has had a turn.
Talk: When Jesus talked about heaven, He said, "In my Father's house are many rooms.If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?"(John 14:2). He is preparing a home, which we call “heaven,” for those who trust in Him. This new homewill be located on a new earth (2 Peter 3:13), and if Jesus is preparing this place for us, it is going to be amazing. What might Jesus include in your heavenly home to help you understand how much He loves you?
Pray: Ask God to give you an excitement for the place He is preparing for you.
