Theme: Make Decisions to Glorify God
Decisions, Decisions
Scripture: And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1:9, 10 ESV).
Play: As you drive or walk, determine where you want to go, but flip a coin to make decisions about how you’re going to get there. “Heads, we turn right. Tails, we turn left.” At each intersection, flip the coin to choose a direction. After four or five turns, evaluate how close you are to your destination, then finish your walk or drive without the coin.
Talk: Flipping a coin to decide how to get where we’re going doesn’t make sense and might even take us farther away from our destination. Fortunately, there’s a better way to make decisions. The Bible says that God gives us wisdom through Jesus (Colossians 1:9,10). When we need to make an important decision, we can rely on Jesus to guide us in the right direction. How do you know whether you’ve made a good decision?
Pray: Ask God to help you make wise choices.
