Let’s Talk about Jesus
“Then he told John’s disciples, ‘Go back to John and tell him what you have seen and heard—the blind see, the lame walk, those with leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised to life, and the Good News is being preached to the poor’” (Luke 7:22 NLT).
People give their opinions on everything online. We don’t know who they are, but they’ll give their recommendations or endorsements. For instance, before we try a new restaurant, we might check the reviews on Yelp.
And if we see a great movie, hear a great song, or read a great book, we’ll give our endorsements as well. That’s because if we really like something, we want to tell others.
If we are really walking with Jesus, should we not do the same for Him? Let’s talk about Jesus. Let’s give our testimonies and tell people what Christ has done for us.
Every Christian has a testimony, although some are more dramatic than others. Some believers came from a life of crime, addiction, or have other kinds of issues, while others never got into those things.
But there’s one thing we can all say when we tell our story of how we came to Jesus. Like the blind whom Jesus healed, we can say, “I was blind, and now I can see!” (John 9:25 NLT).
Even without knowing you, I know your testimony. You were a sinner separated from God. You heard the gospel. You put your faith in Jesus Christ, and He came into your life and has changed you. Is that pretty accurate?
The Bible gives several pictures of this new relationship. For example, we are God’s possessions. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 tells us, “You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price” (NLT). Our lives belong to God.
God has given us the beat of your hearts as a gift. He has given us the breath in our lungs. We belong to the Lord, and He loves every one of us. Isn’t that a wonderful thing to know? And when Christians are walking closely with God in fellowship and friendship, they will want to tell others.
