How One Bible Verse Changed My Life
I'm Jennifer Waddell, an author and speaker for Christian women who feel stuck in faith and life. I am a Christian. At the age of 17, I was living the typical American teenage life, a life of rebellion and running away from God. Deep down, I knew that that wasn't the life I wanted and not what God wanted for my life either. I was given a Bible for my 17th birthday with my name inscribed on the front, and I remember opening it to the book of John, and for the first time I read the words, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
He was with God in the beginning, and through him all things were made. Without him, nothing would have been made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.
That day, a seed was planted deep in my heart and began to take root. I knew that the life I was living was not part of God's best for me. It was not part of his plan. When I finally surrendered my life to Jesus, my Lord and Savior, his life renewed mine, and his light began to shine through me for his glory and the good of others.
It's been more than 30 years now, and I'm still walking with him day by day, leaning on him for strength and encouragement. It was all because I recognized my need for a Savior, and so I can't help but ask, do you need a Savior? He's waiting to hear from you. He's waiting for you to call on his name, repent, believe, and be saved. Thank you for letting me share my story.
