Does Your Daily Routine Glorify God? - Love Worth Finding - April 22
April 22, 2024 – Does Your Daily Routine Glorify God?
Ephesians 6:5-6
Sermon: 2167 Turning the Rat Race into a Pilgrimage, Part 1
Pray Over This
“Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.”
Ephesians 6:5-6
Ponder This
Do you know who the first farmer was? It was God. Genesis 2:8 says, “And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden.” Then in Genesis 2:15, we read, “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” So, what was Adam doing? Farming is not preaching. It’s what some people would call “secular work.” But any work done for God is the work of God, is it not?
Colossians 3:23-24 says, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.” In those verses, Paul’s talking about so-called secular work. If you work in a factory, you’re working for God. If you work in an office, you’re working for God. There are people you work with who need to see you as a living testimony. There are people in your home who need Christ’s love. This work is important. Get out and glorify God in all you do!
- What are some ways you struggle to give God glory?
- Does the work you do feel important to you? Why or why not?
Practice This
Whatever your daily work, do it today to the glory of God.
