Seeing the Trinity Reflected in Creation - Love Worth Finding - May 6

May 6, 2024 – Seeing the Trinity Reflected in Creation
Isaiah 6:1-3
Sermon: 1884 Treasuring the Trinity

Pray Over This

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!’”
Isaiah 6:1-3

Ponder This

Nothing and no one can compare with God because God is not like anything or anyone. God is God. He is separate. But because God is triune, you see reflections of His triunity in everything He created. For example, God has created space, and space is height, width, and depth. You can’t get dimensions without width, or width without depth, or depth without height. They are all part of the same. Each is distinct, and yet each is indistinguishable and inseparable. Or, consider time. Time is past, present, and future. You can’t have a past without a present. You can’t have a present without a future. You can’t have a future without a past. The past, present, and future are all distinguishable—yet each is a part of the same. A man is body, soul, and spirit.

These are not illustrations of the Trinity but reflections of the Trinity in creation. We have the Father above us, the Spirit within us, and the Savior who died for us. The Trinity is not a far-off concept; it is a present reality to all who believe.

  • How often do you reflect on and worship God for His triune nature?
  • What changes when we start to understand there is nothing that compares to God?

Practice This

Thank God for who He is and for how set apart He is. Pray that He may have His rightful place in all areas of your life.
