Prayer warriors

Rom. 15:30:  I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me (NIV).

Who are your fellow parenting prayer warriors? One of the benefits of the Christian community is the privilege to pray for fellow parents and have them pray for us in return. Sadly, however, there are people who use prayer requests to pass judgment on the parenting skills of others. It doesn't take many of these experiences to shut down a spirit of authenticity. When we feel judged, we begin to compare ourselves to others and hide behind acceptable masks. What a tragedy!

As believing parents, we need each other. It may take some time, but seek out people with whom you can be "real" in sharing your parenting struggles. Prayer is a powerful weapon in a believer's armor to intercede for others in the battle against Satan. Don't let a tendency towards pride—to judge others or fear their judgment of you—prevent you from utilizing the power of corporate prayer.

Find a group of parents to join you in doing battle through prayer.
