Then [Jesus] said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
--Matthew 4:19-20
We know that there’s a problem in
Our children are looking to us as godly men to set the example and pave the wave to follow Christ. As we approach the day to honor dads, I want to reinforce the fact that leadership is a premium. Christian dads have been called out to lead their families, communities, and churches.
We’ve also been also called to follow Christ’s leadership. To follow Christ means to change the direction in your life, trust His navigation, obey His instruction, and surrender your ambitions. Just as the fishermen left their nets and followed Christ in a life change, so you are called to follow Christ in everything you do.
Dad, have you just adopted a religion, or are you truly following Christ in your heart and life? Confess your faith openly, live in purity and integrity, love your wife devotedly, and spend time with your children daily. It doesn’t matter if you are divorced or married; you are to set the highest possible standard for your children. You can’t change what is passed, but you can live every day for Jesus and commit to leading your family.
DAD, SURRENDER YOUR LIFE, WILL, AND AMBITION TO JESUS, FOLLOW
HIM DAILY, AND ALL THE BLESSINGS OF BEING A GOOD FATHER WILL FOLLOW.
