How to recognize God's abundant blessings your life
February 17, 2011
For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
Psalm 84:11
Sometimes when I share the Gospel, I get the response, "I know I need Christ, but I'm afraid he might call me somewhere I don't want to go." Many people genuinely believe that the day they accept Christ, God's going to call them to minister to penguins in Antarctica!
But let me tell you, living in Christ has been a more abundant life than I could've ever imagined! He's never taken me to a place without giving me his supernatural peace in heading that direction. And, he's never led me down a road that's caused me to look back and say, "I wish God hadn't done that."
I hope you know today that God wants you to enjoy life's blessings. If it's wholesome, if it's good, if it's godly, and if it will make you a better person, he wants you to have it! He doesn't hold back good things from you.
So when you look around and it seems everyone else is having all the fun, remember that God has blessed you with specific blessings for the specific purpose he has for you. And as you grow in your faithfulness to him and walk uprightly, he will bless you all the more!
