What Is ‘Safe Sex’?
February 16
Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
On a chilly day, who doesn’t love a fire in the fireplace? It provides you with warmth, light, and a relaxing ambience. In the fireplace, the fire is a good thing. But if I were to take a flaming piece of wood out of the fireplace and put it in the middle of the living room, I’d have all sorts of problems. It would burn the carpet, and might possibly injure or kill someone.
Just like fire, sex has a safe context as well as an unsafe context. In the confines of marriage, sex is a blessing. But when you take that blessing out of its intended context and put it where it doesn’t belong—outside of marriage—then that blessing becomes an agent of destruction and pain.
People talk so much about safe sex today. But there is no safe sex outside the oly bond of marriage. Oh, we’ve found ways to reduce the chances of disease and pregnancy, but the emotional and spiritual ramifications of extramarital sex are extremely detrimental.
There is no such thing as ‘safe sex’ between people who aren’t married. Unmarried sex is far from the “harmless fun” many proclaim it to be. Stay safe sexually by staying pure for the one who will share life with you. That’s how you practice safe sex.
PRACTICE SAFE SEX BY SHARING INTIMACY ONLY WITHIN THE HOLY BOND OF MARRIAGE.
