Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, with a sincere heart, as you would Christ, not by the way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but as servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.

--Ephesians 6:5-6

Did you know that your job is part of God’s divine plan for your life? Too many believers think it’s only pastors, evangelists, or missionaries who are in full-time service to the Lord.

But the truth is, every believer is in full-time service to the Lord… and our daily efforts are valuable to God and to others!

Maybe you think your job is insignificant or that you’re not able to impact the lives of those around you because of where you work. Let me challenge you to change your perspective.

In our verse today, the apostle Paul encourages us to serve as if “doing the will of God from the heart.”

God has placed you exactly where you are. When you are a follower of Christ, things don’t just randomly happen in your life. God is at work, unfolding His divine plans. He has placed you in that job… or raising those children… at this exact time for a reason.

Work is something the Lord has ordained for our good… it’s not just something to be endured. And when you give yourself to your work with a great attitude, that brings pleasure to the heart of God… and it shows those around you what a true servant of Christ is like.

Also, your work is an opportunity for you to develop your character—which is of ultimate importance to the Lord—and to bless those around you. It’s not just the money you earn that blesses others, but the very service you contribute is meeting a need, and you have the unique responsibility to fulfill it.

Don’t let half-hearted work be a part of your day. Whatever the Lord has given you to do, do it with enthusiasm, commitment, and excellence! This will bring glory to the Lord and will give your life new meaning. Anything less is not fitting for a child of God.

And don’t ever think that you can’t mix religion with business. Every day is an opportunity to glorify God. So give each day your best and enjoy the satisfaction of hard work, an honest life, and bringing joy to those around you!

GOD IS CALLING YOU TO LIVE OUT YOUR FAITH IN THE MARKETPLACE… IN THE HOME… OR WHEREVER YOU FIND YOURSELF TODAY.

OUR THANKS TO YOU!

Pause: Resting in God Instead of Stressing Out

Dear Friend,

Do the words rested... peaceful... and refreshed describe you today? Or do the words stressed... rushed... and pressured better describe your way of life?
If you're like most Christians, you'd probably have to admit those last three words more accurately describe your life most of the time!
The good news is that it doesn't have to be this way... even when your life is one big pressure-cooker. And in my new book, Pause: Resting in God Instead of Stressing Out, I'll show you why.
Based on the principles from Paul's letter to the Philippians and Psalm 23, Pause: Resting in God Instead of Stressing Out will help you find true peace and rest in a world that is anything but peaceful and restful. It's the perfect "pause" button you need!
So please request your copy of Pause: Resting in God Instead of Stressing Out when you give online today!  --Jack Graham
