How to stay in God’s protective care
March 18, 2013
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2
It’s been a little over 21 years since I picked up a phone to call the man who would become the worship pastor at our church. I remember our first conversation. I told him, “Todd, you don’t know me, but I’m about to stir up your life. I want you to come be our worship pastor.”
What Todd said next was such a confirmation that he was the man for the job. “Jack,” he told me, “whatever happens, I just want to do the will of God.” Todd’s words that day inspired me. He prayed about it, and God confirmed in his heart that becoming our worship pastor was the right step for him. But what I loved is that he put his own desires aside and appealed first to God’s will.
Bobby Richardson, the famed New York Yankee once prayed at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes banquet, “Lord, Thy will anywhere, anytime, any cost.” And as believers in Jesus Christ, that’s the decision we can make because it’s the path that will work out for our good and His glory.
God’s will is perfect. So before we follow our own impulses, let’s appeal first to God. When we do, we can go forward with full confidence that we’re on His side and safe in His protective care!
FIND GOD’S WILL IN YOUR DECISIONS SO YOU CAN HAVE FULL CONFIDENCE YOU’LL BE UNDER HIS PROTECTIVE CARE!
