How you can find inexpressible joy
May 23, 2011
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.
1 Peter 1:8
Somebody once came up to me after church one Sunday and said, “Pastor, I’ve seen better faces on iodine bottles than I’ve seen on the faces of some Christians!” And while we had a good laugh about that, the truth is that there are many believers who think that if they’re having fun, it must be illegal, immoral, or fattening!
But when you know the Lord Jesus Christ, you can experience the joy that he gives because his presence creates in you an inexpressible joy. One of my favorite miracles of Christ was when he turned the water into wine at the wedding in Cana. That very act tells us that when we have God’s favor, it’s a cause for celebration.
Jesus Christ is the Lord of the everyday! There’s no situation or circumstance in your life in which he’s not interested. In every step that we take, no matter how small, he’s always with us. And his presence in our everyday lives lifts us from disappointment to delight as we walk with him.
Does God seem near to you today? Or, does it seem like he’s just a thought in your mind? Remember that Christ is beside you always and when you walk with him, you’ll experience inexpressible joy!
WALK CLOSELY WITH JESUS AND YOU’LL FIND INEXPRESSIBLE JOY IN LIFE’S DAILY CIRCUMSTANCES

Our gift to you!
Dear Friend,
At some point, everyone goes through a difficult season, left wondering when God would come through. That’s why I want to send you my new booklet, God’s Promises for Doubt-Filled Days.
In this booklet, I share how the tragedy of my father’s murder revealed to me God’s steady comfort during times of trial. And I share in this booklet the four promises God makes as you search for comfort in the midst of your doubts.
God’s Promises for Doubt-Filled Days is my gift to thank you for your online donation to PowerPoint today, so please request it when you give.
It’s my prayer this resource will help you see how God works his good plans in you—especially during doubt-filled days!
