Time with God - August 14
Wednesday, 14 August 2019
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’”
God expects us to take what he has given us, no matter what our situation, and use it for him!
Just like the parable of the talents—in our lives God has given us everything, whether it be our finances, our relationships, or anything else. We are not supposed to “hide these things in the ground” (v25) and just enjoy them for ourselves.
Is your life going well? Is your job going smoothly and your family is happy? What is God calling you to do with your life right now? What relationships is he asking you to invest into? Who is he calling on you to witness to? How can you invest what he has given you to bring glory to him?
Is your life hard at the moment? Is there sickness in your family? Are you out of a job? How is God calling you to be faithful in your situation? How can you invest the experiences and lessons he is teaching you to bring glory to him? 1 Cor 10:31 says “…whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” How can you bring glory to God?
What does “well done good and faithful servant” look like in your situation? When you reach the end of this season of your life, will God say that to you? And what is the awesome result of that faithfulness? “The joy of your master”.
Reflect now on what is happening in your life – whether it be good or bad? Write down how you think God would like you to be multiplying his kingdom in your situation.
