Time with God - December 10, 2013
For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God. Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all, while they also, by prayer on your behalf, yearn for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
In this passage, Paul is talking to the Corinthians about the ministry of financial giving and how it glorifies God and how deeply it ministers to those receiving the gift.
As he talks about the joy of giving and receiving and how God provides what we need to be generous toward others, Paul bursts out in this exclamation of enthusiastic thanksgiving to God for His supreme gift to us.
Paul spends a lot of time in his letters describing God’s grace, but as his heart fills up with emotion over what God has done for us in Christ Jesus, he can’t put into words what it means to him.
Take some time right now and just think and meditate on what the Lord Jesus has done for you, and respond to Him.
