Time with God - February 23, 2018
“If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?”
Much of what God does in your life is determined by how you handle the money he has entrusted to you!
The most important phrase in this passage is “in that which is another’s”. Jesus is talking about the way you use money. He says, “That money you are spending is not yours. It is God’s, and God is looking to see if you use it the way he wants it used. If you are faithful to use what is his in a way that is pleasing to him, then he can trust you with other things too.”
Sometimes we get the idea that ten percent of our money is God’s and the rest is ours, but that is so wrong. The Apostle Paul reminds you that even you yourself belong to God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
God has lovingly entrusted to you the money in your life, whether it is much or little. He wants you to enjoy his blessings. But he also wants you to constantly consider, “How can I use this money in a way that would bring pleasure and honor to God?”
