Time with God - February 6, 2017
“Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, ‘Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?’ Jesus answered him, ‘If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.’”
Love for the Lord and faith in him go together!
Love and trust—they are very closely linked to each other, aren’t they? My love for the Lord Jesus makes me trust him implicitly. That’s why I will obey him even when my reason does not understand what he is doing or why he is allowing certain things in my life. I trust him, so I follow his leading.
But if my love for the Lord has not been nurtured by time with him and fellowship and obedience, then my trust in him will also begin to weaken. Doubts will creep in and I will hesitate when he leads me. That’s why it is so important to keep your relationship with God the number one priority of your life. Guard your time with him and when he leads, say yes straight away.
