Time with God - Jan. 2, 2013

Luke 22:31-32

Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.

You will never face any trial that Jesus’ prayers for you have not already covered!

Jesus is your greatest ‘prayer warrior’. He constantly lifts you up to God the Father. Even before you face your trial, He sees it and knows you need His help in it. God may allow Satan to attack you, but He does not leave you without help.

He focuses His prayer on your faith. The Lord knows that your faith is the key to your perseverance. When you are going through times of major testing or major failure, that is when it is most important for you to trust God. In times of trial you must trust in His purpose, that He has not forgotten you, that He loves you and sees the big picture of your life, that He will walk with you through your pain, strengthening you as He holds you close.

In times of failure, when you have sinned and don’t feel like you could ever approach God again, you must trust in His nature of mercy and grace. He has said that if you confess your sins He will forgive them. Trust in His promise today and turn to Him.
