Time with God - June 1, 2017

Zechariah 7:11-13

“But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear. They made their hearts diamond-hard lest they should hear the law and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore great anger came from the Lord of hosts. ‘As I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

Never ignore what God is trying to say to you!

It’s one thing to gradually drift away from your passion for God and to suddenly realise that you have been ignoring him. When this happens, you can immediately refocus your life on God and return to spiritual health and fruitfulness.

But when you purposely harden your heart toward God when you know he’s speaking to you, this is very dangerous for your spiritual life. It creates an attitude of heart in you that puts enormous distance between you and God, and it will bring consequences into your life that will make you look back with regret on your choice to resist God.

If you’re being tempted to harden your heart toward God, God is calling you today to soften your heart and respond to him. If you’re already tasting the bitter consequences, you must immediately come to God with repentance and surrender and make things right with him.
