Time with God - June 30, 2017
“The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. The Lord God has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious; I turned not backward. I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard; I hid not my face from disgrace and splitting.”
Let the Lord use you in other people’s lives, no matter what it costs!
This is part of a very moving prophetic passage which points to the suffering experienced by our Lord Jesus Christ for us. But the point of this passage is not the suffering, but the availability of Jesus to God the Father for the ministry the Father wanted to accomplish through him.
When Jesus recognised the Father’s voice calling him to his earthly ministry, he “was not rebellious; [nor] turned not backward”. He willingly put himself in a situation that would cause him great pain, because that was how God wanted to use him.
Has God opened your ear? Do you sense God leading you to minister to people in a certain way? Don’t be disobedient or turn back. No matter what it costs, be available to God. Then God will use you greatly in people’s lives.
