Time with God - May 29

Tuesday 29 May 2018

John 9:4-5

“We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.  As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

Only one life—it will soon be past. Only what’s done for Christ will last!

You can hear the sense of urgency in Jesus’ words here, can't you? You aren’t just alive in this world—you’ve been sent into it. Life is short, so get busy with God’s agenda for your life! There’s no time for pussyfooting around. No time for wondering how God’s agenda might impact on your comfort levels. It’s time to act, time to do.

It’s time to ask your neighbour what they think of Jesus. It’s time to ask your workmate, “Can I pray for you about the crisis you’re facing?” It’s time to invite your son’s soccer coach around for a BBQ. It’s time to go deeper than the surface in your conversations with people. It’s time to invite your biking buddies to the next men’s event at church with you. It’s time to talk to your children on the spiritual level. It’s time to pray with your spouse. It’s time to ask God how he wants to use you to introduce people to him.

As you think about your life, when do you think it will be time for those things? The time is now!

Write down one thing on “God’s agenda” you will take action on today: _______________________
