Time with God - November 18, 2016

Acts 1:8

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

In everything you do, you have a choice. You can do it in your own power, or you can do it in the power of the Holy Spirit.

God has placed his Holy Spirit in your life to empower your life to be lived for his glory. The world we have grown up in teaches us to rely on our own abilities in life; it teaches us to believe in ourselves and be confident in ourselves. But God wants us to believe in him and be confident in him.

If you choose to live life in your own power, you will only accomplish normal things. But if you choose to live life in God’s power, following his leading, then your life will be marked by the activity of God which cannot be explained by your own abilities.

It doesn’t mean you will be well-known or famous, but your life will show people God’s power.

God doesn’t just want you to rely on him for the huge issues of life, but for your everyday life and interactions with others. Learn to put God first in your choices and depend on his power in everything you do. Choose to live powerfully.
