All This Wasn't Even On My List! - Warrior Mom Wisdom - Week of December 11

Warrior Mom Wisdom Devotional

Have you ever had definite plans of accomplishing a certain set number of things, and by the end of the day, the months, the year, by the end of whatever it is that’s at hand, you realize that yes, you’ve done a bunch, but none of what you just did was “even on your list?” I was looking at my outline – the one I wrote when I was first inspired to write this book, and I realized that the last twenty pages of this book weren’t even scheduled for debut.  They weren’t scheduled yet, because I hadn’t even lived the last twenty pages when I wrote the outline.  Life is like that isn’t it?  We so much want to plan and get things set in stone.  We so want to check things off of our lists.

Warrior Moms, we must remember that no matter how great our list appears, that it is still subject to refining.  Life is a little more fun that way anyway.

ALL THIS WASN’T EVEN ON MY LIST!

I began the day with plans
Oh wondrous plans of my own
I had them chiseled out
On my list” therefore in stone
But then something happened
A dreaded change of direction
And suddenly my list
Lost its appeal and perfection
Out of nowhere came the chaos
Of things I didn’t wish
Of things that had no business
Being on my list
I tried my best to fight it
But those other things persevered
And like a Dr. Seuss Book
I fiddled and faddled with fear
Fear that I would lose
All my plans of action -
Fear that I wouldn’t reach
My level of satisfaction
But then oh ever slightly
I begin to see
That this list wasn’t so bad
This list in front of me
It was ever so different
Than the one that I constructed
In fact missing were those things
That now appeared obstructive
So a couple of what I hads
Quietly disappeared
Including that awful thing
That we all know called fear
There seemed to be more light
Reflecting off the page
And I liked this new list better
It even had another thing called
Play
I never even thought of putting
Play upon my list
I think I’ll write my next list differently
I think now I have the jist

Love,
Kristina

Jesus did many other things as well.  If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

John 21:25
