“Until You Trust Me in Nothing Can You Trust Me with Everything" - Warrior Mom Wisdom - Week of November 18
“Until You Trust Me in Nothing Can You Trust Me with Everything.”
God spoke these words to me one day. I was driving and I must have been wondering how bills would get paid for my family and the ministry, although I didn’t realize that was my focus. I understood what He meant. I thought about the Israelites in the desert. They literally did not have what they needed in the physical, so God in His spiritual power brought water from a rock and rained down manna from Heaven. For a long time now, I have asked God to bring water from a rock. This dependence on Him had increased with the planting of the Warrior Mom and Wife ministry. I realized that He was stretching me to be able to walk in the freedom of my weakness, totally, utterly dependent on Him, fully expecting and believe that He would provide. I understood how I had to be that weak for Him to be that strong. God had to get “me” out of the way so that He could do all that He wanted to do through me, through the ministry.
I shared this concept with a precious friend, one whom I consider a General in God’s Army, and she said something awesome while she was praying for me. She told God that He has always been, and that even in our concept of nothingness, He was, is and has always been (always existed), therefore – there has never been nothing because He has always been. My spiritual eyes widened as she prayed and I understood that my concept of “nothing” is God’s concept of “everything, ie, All that He is and has for me. My nothing is His Everything because it’s HIM and HE, GOD, has always been. There has never been nothing, because God has always been. I see now that God wanted me to understand that I must fully understand “my nothingness” if I am to fully walk in His Everything. I see now how I am completely free in my physical inability and weakness because I exist then in all of who He is – and all that He’s always been.
So do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord, or ashamed of me his prisoner. But join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God, who has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was give us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.2 Timothy 1:8-10
I was very refreshed after having met and prayed with my friend. I kind of “spiritually exhaled.” Later that day, I got busy with the chores of life. My husband later informed me that we would need about $1,300 for my daughter’s soccer fees. As I was cooking dinner, I said, “That’s ridiculous; we don’t have it.” To which he responded, “Yep, I know it.” We decided we would break the news to our daughter, Faith (so ironic that we named her Faith, and we would be held accountable to living out the meaning of her name), later that day when she returned from swimming. Upon hearing the news, her heart sank, she teard up and dismissed herself to her room to cry. God convicted me on the spot and reminded me of who He is and that HE owns a cattle on a thousand hills. Why then? He asked, “Are you operating in your limitations rather than the freedom of who I am and ALL that I have for you, for your daughter, and all people that you come in contact with?” I immediately grabbed my Bible and ran upstairs to my daughter. “Faith, I am so sorry! I preach the Word and the Truth of God and all that He is able to do, and yet I just acted in a contradictory way. She accepted my apology, but wondered what I was up to. Had I just found 1,300 dollars or something? I could tell she was wondering. I said, “Faith, me and your dad don’t have 1300 dollars, but God does! He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. So, let’s agree in the power of His Name and all that He is, and let us ask Him for it and simultaneously praise Him for it!” “Okay,” said Faith, and she smiled at me. We talked about the father in Mark chapter 9 who asked Jesus, ‘if you can…” heal my son, will you. Jesus replied, “If I can?” “All is possible for him who believes.” I told Faith that we will never again respond to a need or a desire, in line with God’s will for us, in a half-hearted, defeated request, “If you can help us, will you?” No, we will tell God who we know He IS and that’s HE’S ALWAYS BEEN, and in our nothingness – He is our everything!
I will update you with a praise report as soon as God brings in the physical what is already accomplished in the spiritual.
Two Weeks Later: The soccer coach called and told us that two families had donated $10,000 to the team. We would only need to pay $54.00 for Faith’s uniform. He also added, “Monthly training fees are $80.00, but I don’t want that to be an obstacle for Faith, so you all don’t have to pay it.”
As a prisoner to the hope of Christ that is in me, I bring Paul into this moment who said,
II Timothy 2:9 “The Word of God is not chained” [!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
Praise Him!
