I’m Chosen

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12a
When our son was in ninth-grade, one day he shut the car door with tears flowing down his face.
“I didn’t make the team,” he whispered.
My heart broke for him. Having played baseball since he was five years old, he loved the sport. His hopes were high that he’d play in high school. But they were crushed when that didn’t happen.
Don’t we all want to be the one who’s chosen? Whether it’s a child who longs to be on a team or a young man trying out for his favorite sport or an adult who desires to be included? It’s painful not to be picked.
One of the beautiful truths of the Bible, God’s written Word, is that anyone who believes in Christ Jesus is chosen. We may not understand all the details but it’s true.
When I’m feeling rejected, I can remember—my Heavenly Father picked me.
When I feel worthless, take note—Jesus Christ chose me.
If everyone else abandons me, I know He called my name, and He’ll never let go.
Scripture says, “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world…” Ephesians 1:4
Are you feeling rejected? If your heart is reaching for God, you’re chosen. Accept Him by faith and know He loves you. Rest in that love.
God says, “I choose you.”
