The Father’s Representation - Wholly Loved - December 4

The Father’s Representation

By Kristen Terrette
“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Him …” Colossians 1:19

What might you do, if you had a twin? Would you play tricks on others? Try to represent one another in different situations?

People call my daughter my twin. Our build and height are similar, and we both have blonde hair and blue eyes. However, I think she looks more like her dad. Her skin is a beautiful tan. Her long legs are definitely not mine. The shape of her mouth and eyes mirror her father’s. And their color, which people assume is handed down from me, more closely matches his.

More accurately, she’s a solid mix of both of us, physically and in terms of personality.

Jesus isn’t a hybrid. He walked on earth in the “fullness” of the Father. Every bit of God’s divine power and all His attributes existed in Christ’s human form. He was also fully human, God incarnate, which means “in the flesh.” God sent His Son, an exact representation of Himself, to save us, and He was pleased to do so.

Let’s not forget the power of this Truth. God loves us so much, He freely gave His Son to save us. Moreover, Jesus freely gave Himself for the same reason. He came to earth to bridge the gap between us and God and provide a way for us to be reconciled with our Creator.
