God's Shaking and our Dynamic Role
- Published Oct 22, 2014
"See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks... At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, 'Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.' The words 'once more' indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our 'God is a consuming fire' - (Hebrews 12:25-29).
Dear intercessors,
I have said and heard it often spoken: God is in the process of shaking everything that can be shaken. He is not shaking some things: He is shaking everything. If you and those around you are not experiencing some sort of change and some sort of shaking in your own life, then you must not be living on planet earth. God is trying to get our attention, and He knows that it will take a great shaking to wake us up to His ways and His dynamic call on our lives at this time.
Perhaps you are a light sleeper, but for many people it takes a great shaking to wake them up out of a deep slumber. Friends, we are in a most dynamic season in all of world history, and it is time that we awaken out of our slumber. Good and bad times are on the horizon, and it’s time to wake up and arise as the people of God.
The Lord is creating a global crisis with no solution apart from Him, and He is the primary source of this shaking.
It’s not time to turn over in our bed, wrap that pillow around our head, and think that this is just a bad dream. No! This is the real thing. From all appearances we are in the last days, and it’s time for the harvest. It’s time to get our lamps filled with the oil of His Spirit.
Here are a few facts to awaken and stir our spirit:
- The world is ready to hear the gospel - Multitudes are searching for truth, even those caught deeply in false religion and compromise. Nothing else works but Jesus.
- Hopelessness and suicide are at an all-time high - But where there is the deepest hopelessness and despair, there is opportunity to share the greatest hope and salvation. Jesus brings hope to the hopeless.
- Human trafficking, pornography, sexual sin, and perversion is increasing quickly - At the same time, God is bringing freedom into many lives caught in darkness. He is bringing a greater awareness and a new determination in passionate prayer to see the release of millions enslaved in sin. See this: Prayer Guide for ending Human Trafficking.
- We are on the brink of the greatest outpouring globally that this world has ever seen - Revival will hit the nations in a greater and more far-reaching way than any of us have ever dreamed possible. We must be ready.
- Across every nation, the Holy Spirit is raising up a powerful prayer and worship movement - We are still in the early stages, but hunger for prayer and worship is increasing at a remarkable rate. Houses of Prayer are starting all over the world.
God is removing everything that hinders love. Every nation is being shaken. His people are being purified all over the earth in order to bring in this great harvest of souls worldwide. Jesus is committed to building His Father’s House of Prayer in all nations for all nations (Isaiah 56:7, Matthew 16:18-19, John 2:17). He is bringing forth an unshakable Kingdom.
“For my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations” - (Isaiah 56:7).
Our Dynamic Role in Changing History in the End Time
"Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him... How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you - (Isaiah 30:18-19).
God is bringing forth worship through this shaking and He is bringing forth shaking through prayer. Revival and judgment will shake the earth through prayer.
Some still think that prayer is just for little old ladies in the Church, but God is putting it high on a pedestal in these end times. He is bringing about the greatest change and the greatest revival through prayer. The House of Prayer and the praying Church are the only ones on earth that have the authority to bind the darkness and loose the glory of God - (Matthew 16:18-19).
We have a dynamic intercessory role that will change history forever. Intercessory prayer will release victory over Satan (Daniel 10; 12:1; Revelation 12:7-9; 20:1-3). This is the part we must grab hold of now. God will not do our part. We must ask; we must knock; we must cry out to Him. Even Jesus was required to ask for His promised inheritance of the nations (Psalm 2:8).
Next time you are tempted to fear and worry, stop and realize the authority you have in prayer. The measure of God’s glory hangs on the response of the praying Church in a geographical region (2 Chronicles 7:14, Jeremiah 29:7; Ezekiel 22:30, Numbers 14:21; Psalm 72:19; Isaiah 11:9; Habakkuk 2:14; Acts 17:26).
It’s time for the Church to arise to her position of authority in governmental intercession. If a prayer and worshipping lifestyle is on God’s heart for His Church, we must seek to prioritize this in our own hearts. God is setting watchmen (Isaiah 62:6-7) who seek to know Him (Psalm 27:4) and understand His plans (Jeremiah 23:20), leading to fervent intercession that changes history forever (Luke 18:7-8). Never forget this. Write it on your heart. Narrow down your life to apply it wholeheartedly.
- Fervent intercession can change history.
- Fervent intercession can bring in the harvest.
- Fervent intercession can change the coldest hearts.
You are in dynamic partnership with the King of the nations. Do not take this authority lightly. Live it out in your daily experience. Ask God to help you to cultivate prayer with worship on a daily basis. There is a glorious joy in entering into God’s agenda in the end times. We don’t have to fear. Instead we can love and worship God for letting us live in such a great moment of history. Yes, there are difficulties but the greatest difficulty is living a lukewarm and half-hearted life.
I encourage you to give your utmost for His highest. God’s utmost for each one of us will always include prayer and intimacy with Him. I love Oswald Chambers. I encourage you to read his book called My Utmost for His Highest. Every single writing from this young man is packed with spirit life. He was one who loved God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength. He only lived to be 42 years old but has impacted many by his short life of devotion.
In this generation when we have received so much more encouragement to hunger after God, can we do less? Can we sit back in our easy chair when all of eternity is looking at our lives and how we will live in such a momentous time of harvest? No, it’s time to hunger, pursue, run after, prioritize, and make it our ambition to love Jesus and made Him known to a shaking world steeped in sin, without hope or answers to the deep longing of the human soul.
It's time to arise in intercessory prayer and take our governmental position in prayer.
“I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap on behalf of the land, that I might not destroy it…” (Ezekiel 22:30).
Will you be that man? Will you be that woman?
"We will soon see prayer become the chief purpose and focus of the church, above any other activity. Intercession is no longer just an option. The basic calling of the church is to be 'a house of prayer for all nations' (Mark 11:17). There are no remedies for human problems without God, and the whole earth is about to learn this." - Rick Joyner
“'From the rising of the sun… to its going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; in every place incense (prayer) shall be offered to My name, and a pure offering (worship); for My name shall be great among the nations,' says the LORD of hosts” - (Malachi 1:11)
