Best Bible Verses for Newlyweds
There are numerous verses for newlyweds in Scripture. Whether a couple is newly married or has been married for many years, God’s Word is important and everlasting.
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV)
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:34-35 NIV).
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV).
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love” (Ephesians 4:2 NIV).
“Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate” (Mark 10:9 NIV).
Whether you are a newlywed or have been married for many years, having God at the center of the marriage is vital. With a strong foundation in faith, each moment can be met with hope. There will be wonderful times, precious memories created, and the opportunity of sharing God’s love with others. There may also be times of worry, concerns, stress, and sorrow. Beginning the marriage with God at the center allows newlyweds to have a firm foundation. The love of God and the commitment in marriage give each person the ability to share the message of the Gospel through their words and actions.
My husband and I have been married for over 42 years and we still learn new things about each other. We have journeyed through many joys and many sorrows. Yet, knowing God is with us in our marriage brings hope and joy.
God created us to further His kingdom. Newlyweds have wonderful opportunities to share His love with others.
Blessings,
