Paula White Ties Donations to ‘Seven Supernatural Blessings’ in Passover Video

Evangelist and White House faith advisor Paula White is drawing criticism for a new online video that seems to promise seven supernatural blessings for those who donate to her ministry. White quotes Exodus in the video and ties her appeal to the biblical Passover and to the Christian observance of Holy Week. Although White says her financial appeal is for those who "have the ability to stand with us," a video male voiceover presents a more direct call to give.

The video was part of her Sunday livestream.

"I believe that when you honor God on Passover, starting on April 12, at sundown through Good Friday on the 18th, and concluding on Easter Sunday, you can receive these seven supernatural blessings for you and your house," she says in the video. "According to Exodus 23, God will assign an angel to you. He'll be an enemy to your enemies. He'll give you prosperity. He'll take sickness away from you. He will give you long life. He'll bring increase in inheritance, and He'll give a special year of blessing. You're not doing this to get something, but you're doing it in honor to God, realizing what you can receive."

Although most of the video centers on her interpretation of Scripture, she adds bluntly, "Ministry takes money."

For a gift of $50 or more, viewers can receive White's devotional and a communion CD. A $125 donation yields a "special olive wood communion set from the Holy Land." Those who give a "special Passover offering of $1,000 or more, as the Holy Spirit leads," receive all of the above, plus a 10-inch Waterford Crystal Cross. The voiceover then declares: "Don't miss your moment to release seven supernatural blessings and provision into your life." The seven supernatural blessings are listed on the $1,000 donation graphic.

"Join Paula in taking communion during our special Good Friday, online global communion service at noon Eastern on April 18," the voiceover says. "Honor the Lord with your best commanded Passover offering and get ready to celebrate His mercy and grace this Passover Easter resurrection season."

As these words play, clips of White appear on-screen.

"I want you to believe that -- that God, who is a faithful God, will apply the blood covenant of Jesus Christ and give you and your family a miracle for all people to see so that you can testify to the goodness of God," she says in the video.

White is a senior advisor to President Trump's White House Faith Office.

Paula referenced biblical festivals and declared that giving a specific amount of money would unlock God’s favor in very specific ways. Many are left with the question: Is this biblical faith, or is it spiritual manipulation? Can financial giving actually unlock blessings from God?
