When Will ‘The Chosen’ Season 4 Be Available on Prime Video?

The newest season of The Chosen is coming to one of the nation’s largest streaming platforms. Season 4 of The Chosen will land on Prime Video on July 1, one month after it launched on the series’ app and some five months after it debuted in theaters.

It includes one of the most controversial storylines yet in the series—a popular character dies—as well as some of the most well-known stories from the Bible: Lazarus being raised from the dead, the martyrdom of John the Baptist, and Jesus proclaiming, “Upon this rock, I will build my church.” Simon is renamed “Peter.” Additionally, the Romans start collaborating with the religious leaders to plot against Jesus.

Creator and director Dallas Jenkins said Season 4 is “gritty and raw and challenging.”

“Season 4 is a tough season, he said. “And there’s some things that we do in Season 4 that we haven’t done before in our show.

Amazon’s Prime Video is the second largest streaming service in the United States, with 200 million customers, and has a more extensive library of titles than anyone, including Netflix.

Last year, The Chosen jumped into Prime Video’s Top 10 and stayed there for an impressive 90-plus days. At the time, Kyle Young, vice president of global distribution for The Chosen, labeled the Prime data “completely amazing.”

Jenkins said the series has helped bring the Bible to life for viewers. The series depicts a Jesus “who is not only divine and capable of miracles and responsible for salvation, but also someone who dresses his own wounds and laughs with his friends.

“That’s something that we have seen people over and over and over saying, ‘The Bible is coming to life for me in a way that hasn’t before. And we consider that good news.”

Season 5 of The Chosen is currently in production.
