Abortion Tops Global Causes of Death in 2024
Abortion came in as the leading global cause of death in 2024, with 45 million unborn babies killed in the womb, according to data released by Worldometer. The finding accounts for over 42 percent of all human deaths in 2024, surpassing deaths from cancer, malaria, HIV/AIDS, smoking, and traffic accidents combined, as shown by Worldometer statistics.
As reported by Breitbart, the statistics have prompted observers to call abortion "the social justice cause of our time" due to the fact that it overshadows all other social issues.
According to a study published in the Open Journal of Preventive Medicine in 2016, abortion accounts for roughly a third of all annual deaths, including over 60 percent of African American deaths.
One leading black pastor, The Rev. Clenard Childress, Jr., noted that 52 percent of African American pregnancies end in abortion and that abortion is also "the least regulated medical procedure" and is often "completely ignored by health regulation enforcement" despite being the most common operation performed on women. The equivalent of an entire country is "killed by abortion."
Citing statistics, Rev. Childress shared that nearly 1,800 unborn black babies are aborted every day, proportionately more than any other race.
The CDC also found that black babies are more than four times as likely to be aborted as their white counterparts because black women have the highest abortion rate of any demographic (24.4 abortions per 1,000 women in the most recent year for which data are available), while white women have the lowest abortion rate (5.7 abortions per 1,000 women).
As reported by LifeSiteNews, the abortion toll of 45.1 million unborn children in 2024 surpassed Canada's entire population of about 40.1 million, noting that the equivalent of an entire country is "killed by abortion."
