Blake Shelton’s New Song ‘Let Him In Anyway’ Has Fans in Tears over its Powerful Message

Award-winning country music artist Blake Shelton has released a new single, "Let Him in Anyway," ahead of his upcoming album "For Recreational Use Only." The upcoming album, set for release on May 9, comes nearly four years after Shelton's last studio album, Body Language.
"It's been a long time since we had a new album out, and I want to thank the songwriters and musicians who helped bring this record to life," said Shelton in a press release. "Scott (Hendricks) and I have been working on this music for years, and I'm beyond excited to finally share it with the fans."
The latest single, described as an "emotionally gripping ballad," is about "a man hoping for divine forgiveness for a lost friend who was just shy of redemption."
"'Let Him In Anyway' is one of the most powerful songs I've ever had the chance to record," said Shelton. "Hardy is a co-writer and a friend, and I've never heard a song like this before. When I first listened to it, I knew it was something special. It's an honor to bring it to life, and I'm incredibly proud of the record we made."
The song's lyrics read in part:
Hey, God
I know you know what I'm about to pray, God
I just had to suck it up and say goodbye to my best friend
And I don't ever wanna never see him again
And I know the only way to get in is through you
And he wasn't quite the Christian he was supposed to be
And Lord, it ain't my place
But could you let him in anyway?
I can't imagine this day
On my heart's last beat
When I walk through those gates
And he ain't waitin' on me
All I needed was a little more time, I swear
I was so dang close, it ain't fair
The album "captures life's highs and lows with authentic storytelling, raw emotion, and unforgettable melodies" and features guest appearances from other notable artists, including his wife, Gwen Stefani, country legend John Anderson, and longtime friend and tourmate Craig Morgan.
At the present time, Shelton is on the road on his Friends & Heroes Tour, accompanied by a star-studded lineup, including Craig Morgan, Deana Carter, Trace Adkins, and Emily Ann Roberts.
"The tour is more than just a concert—it's a magical, multigenerational celebration of country music, bringing together legendary voices and rising stars for an unforgettable night of music and storytelling," the press release stated.
