With Kamala Harris running as the Democratic presidential nominee, an organization of professing Christians are rallying together in support of her this election season. The newly formed group, titled Evangelicals For Harris, released their first media spot on Wednesday as an effort to win over "on-the-fence" Conservative Evangelicals in swing states.
According to CBN News, the video will first be shown through social media before airing on television in several swing states. The organization will be targeting conservative Christian media websites. Additionally, over 200,000 Evangelical Christians have signed a pledge with Evangelicals For Us to volunteer and vote for the Harris/Walz ticket.
Although Donald Trump has previously won a majority of the evangelical vote, Evangelicals For Harris are targeting swing states, as elections are typically won at the margins in the seven swing states.
On Wednesday, evangelist Franklin Graham denounced Evangelicals For Us for including an image and sound byte of his late father, evangelical Billy Graham, in their ad.
"The liberals are using anything and everything they can to promote candidate Harris. They even developed a political ad trying to use my father, Billy Graham's image to help promote her—or rather, to try to make Donald J. Trump look bad. They are trying to mislead people," Graham wrote on both Facebook and X.
"Maybe they don't know that my father was a firm supporter of President Trump in 2016," he noted. "He appreciated the conservative values and policies of President Trump, and if he were alive today, my father's views and opinions would not have changed. President Trump isn't perfect—none of us are—but I believe he has changed over the years. This recent assassination attempt has had a huge impact on him—and I thank God that his life was spared."

On the other hand, Billy Graham's granddaughter, Jerushah Duford, endorsed Harris during an "Evangelicals for Harris" Zoom call Wednesday and contending that Christians who support Trump are turning away people from Christianity, The Christian Post.
"Voting Kamala, for me, is so much greater than policies. It's a vote against another four years of faith leaders justifying the actions of a man who destroys the message Jesus came to spread, and that is why I get involved in politics," Dufort, whose mother Virginia "Gigi" Graham Tchividjian is Graham's oldest daughter, said in a recorded video because she was unable to attend the event.
She previously wrote an op-ed on USA Today in 2020 urging Christian women to reject Trump, claiming that the church "the church honors Trump before God" and alleging that Trump had protestors tear-gassed in Lafayette Park so he can take a Bible-toting photo op in front of St. John's Church, which is a claim that a federal probe later debunked in 2021.
