Heart Valve Surgery Leaves John MacArthur Bedridden and in Need of Specialized Therapy
Grace To You executive director Phil Johnson, who also serves as an elder at the Los Angeles-based Grace Community Church, says that Pastor John MacArthur remains bedridden in the hospital following heart valve surgery and that he began to undergo physical therapy.
"For those who missed my reply to someone who asked: John MacArthur is still in the hospital, so keep him in your prayers. He's been bedridden long enough they are giving him physical therapy," Johnson wrote on X on Saturday.

MacArthur, 85, shared during a brief appearance at Grace Community Church in November that he's had "three heart surgeries and surgery on my lungs in those last few months." Earlier this month, Johnson explained that MacArthur is still recovering from these surgeries and refuted a claim made by a "poster" on social media that the pastor was "dying in the hospital."
"Anonymous, of course. And he's a chowderhead with a longstanding devilish agenda who always pretends to know more than he really does," he wrote in response.

As reported by Protestia, Johnson has also been sharing his own diagnosis of multiple myeloma- an incurable yet treatable blood cancer- on social media.
"My cancer treatment so far has been somewhat eventful (a couple of trips to the USC Medical Center for extra stitches on a surgical incision), but it has not been as bad as I feared," he wrote on Saturday.

"The drugs they have me injecting myself with make me feel feeble, with lots of bone pain," he continued. "And the blood thinners I'm on have caused havoc with the port they put in my jugular (Darlene gets upset when I'm bleeding from the neck)."
"But it could be worse and probably will get worse. The heavy chemo comes on the 27th. A week from Monday," Johnson concluded his post.
