Investigation Finds Misconduct Allegations against Dr. Michael Brown Credible

An independent investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against Dr. Michael Brown, founder of the Fire School of Ministry, has concluded that these claims are valid. Earlier this month, independent sexual abuse investigation firm Firefly released a 47-page report stating that they were asked on Jan. 13 to examine allegations that Brown had an inappropriate relationship with former Fire School of Ministry member Sarah Monk, whom he had previously said was like a daughter to him. A second allegation was centered on another inappropriate relationship Brown had with a married woman who was part of his church but has since passed away.
"The investigation focused on determining the validity of the complaint and whether the alleged actions were deviant. After reviewing evidence, conducting interviews, and analyzing the situation, the investigation concluded that Brown's actions toward the two females were inappropriate and unacceptable for his leadership position within the ministry," investigators stated. "Such conduct violated the ethical standards expected of someone in his role and undermined the trust and integrity essential to leadership within the church community."
The report's release comes months after the Line of Fire Board hired the law firm Mitchell, Stein, Carey, and Chapman to investigate the abuse claims made against Brown as a third party, The Christian Post reports.
According to a statement on its website, the ministry explained they are reviewing the report.
"Receipt of the FireFly Investigation Summary Report was temporarily delayed until just recently. The Board and Elder team will now review it and release the summary as soon as possible," the ministry said.
Brown, who has not yet publicly responded to the reports, had previously admitted to exercising poor judgment but denied engaging in sexual misconduct with Monk more than 23 years ago.
"Because I can't make any comments on the current situation I'm dealing with until the investigation is completed, I'm going to deactivate my account until then. May the Lord be glorified," he wrote on X last December, prior to the investigation.
