Ray Comfort Pulls ‘Way of the Master’ from Daystar, Ending over 20-Year Partnership

Evangelist Ray Comfort, the founder of Living Waters, announced that the ministry would no longer air its Way of the Master, a street evangelism program, on Daystar Television Network due to the recent allegations surrounding Daystar co-founder and president Joni Lamb, which were made by her son Jonathan Lamb.

"Our sole purpose for being on Daystar has been to proclaim the gospel to as many people as possible. By God's grace, we have received countless messages from individuals who came to saving faith in Christ after coming across 'Way of the Master' on the network," Comfort said in a statement last week. "Many have shared that their journey toward a deeper understanding of biblical truth began by watching our program."

He explained that the departure was made in light of her son Jonathan Lamb's recent public allegations against Daystar co-founder and president Joni Lamb and that Living Waters "can no longer in good conscience allow our content to remain on the network."

Last year, Jonathan Lamb and his wife, Suzy, alleged that Joni Lamb concealed her granddaughter's sexual abuse by a male relative, referred to as "Pete," who also worked for Daystar. Although Joni Lamb has denied these allegations, the scandal has prompted a number of evangelical leaders to remove their programming from Daystar, including Jack Graham, Jesse Duplantis, Lance Wallnau, and Hank and Brenda Kunneman.

As Crosswalk Headlines previously reported, Joyce Meyer and Jimmy Evans also cut ties with Daystar Television amid the child abuse scandal.

According to Comfort's statement, Way of the Master has aired on Daystar for more than 20 years, reaching over 190 countries with the gospel. The evangelist urged the network's leadership to repent if the allegations were found to be true.

"While we don't have the capacity to personally investigate these claims or engage with all the parties involved, the allegations are of such a nature that, while not passing any conclusive judgment on the matter, we are compelled to pursue the course of action we've outlined above," Comfort added. "We have reached out to Daystar, urging repentance if the allegations are true, and we pray that all involved will demonstrate complete honesty and total transparency."

Going forward, Comfort says that the Way of the Master will continue, including having every episode from every season air on Living Waters' new streaming platform, LivingWaters.tv. He also announced that the ministry is finishing production for Way of the Master: Pacific Rim, which he described as "our biggest season yet."

"Removing Way of the Master from one of the largest religious networks in the world was not an easy choice. However, our greatest desire is to honor Christ (1 Corinthians 1:18). We trust in the Lord's faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23) and remain committed to glorifying Him in all we do," he concluded.
