'So Incredibly Grateful': Al Roker Returns Home after Being Readmitted to Hospital for Blood Clot Complications

Today Show weatherman Al Roker is now home after a weekslong stay at the hospital for blood clot complications.

"Home! So incredibly grateful to family, friends, medical folks, @todayshow family and all your thoughts and prayers," he wrote on Instagram last Thursday.

Roker's wife, Deborah Roberts, also confirmed her husband's return on Instagram.

"Home. Where the heart lives. #grateful #heart #humbled #prayer," she wrote, adding a picture of her, Roker, and their daughter.

Last month, Roker experienced blood clots in both his legs and lungs. While he was briefly released from the hospital for Thanksgiving, he was rushed back to the hospital hours later. As a result, Roker missed out on the NBC News morning program for several weeks, including being unable to appear at the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

"Al was taken from his home in a stretcher back to the hospital on Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. His condition was worrying, but once back in the hospital, he improved," one source told Page Six.

Early last week, Roker told his followers that he hoped to be home again soon.

"Hopefully coming home soon, but when your spirit sags a bit, you get to see that and recharge," he captioned the Instagram post. "God Bless you all for all the prayers and well wishes for me and my family."

As reported by CBN News, fans, friends, and family have expressed support for Roker and have kept him in their prayers.

While Roker is out of the hospital, he is still recovering at home.

"Listen, it's been a tough slog. I'm not going to deny this," he told the Today Show in a video update Monday morning. "It's been the hardest one yet, and you know I've had my share of surgeries. It gives you a profound sense of gratitude for this outpouring of prayers and thanks. I'm a very fortunate person."

"I've got a number of issues, but I feel good, I feel strong, and every day I feel a little bit better," he added.
